THINGS WE CAN ALL DO TO HELP WITH RECYCLING
As a church we are not recycling enough so there are now green recycling bins in both kitchens.
We are now collecting used glasses which will go to Robert Ellen and Vision aid.
Boots have a recycling box in store for cosmetics, blister packs and you can gain points if you use the Boots App recycling.
We are now working to achieve Silver award so please ask a member of our team if you wish to help us.
Thank you -
John, Geoff, Geoff and Jeff, Rob, John and Jean
Eco Church (https://arocha.org.uk/what-we-do/eco-church/) is a learning community of churches of all shapes and sizes. It provides a framework to support your church and its leadership to take practical action on caring for God’s earth. It includes a toolkit of resources, an online award survey, a quarterly email update, online events, prayer forums and occasional conferences. The Eco Church survey, with its suite of supporting resources, will help you ‘go green’ in all areas of your church life. The work will all count towards a Bronze, Silver or Gold Eco Church award.
Our survey and its supporting resources are designed to equip your church to express care for God’s world in your worship and teaching; in how you look after your buildings and land; in how you engage with your community both locally and globally; and in the personal lifestyles of your congregation.
Each survey will guide and help our team assess progress in five key areas of church life:
Worship and Teaching
Management of Church Buildings
Management of Church Land
Community and Global Engagement
Lifestyle
Our ECO team meet once a month, so far, with help from the congregation they have successfully completed the Bronze award in June 2024 and are now working towards the Silver award survey completion, so if you would like to help you are welcome to join.
